Sit comfortably with good posture. You may wish to sit in the lotus position, with your legs folded, or you may kneel. Cup your hands together on your lap with the palms facing upwards. Lightly touch your thumbs together. Focus your mind on your breathing.

Specifically, focus on the area between your nose and your lips. Observe your breath coming and going through this area. You will notice that thoughts occupy your mind from time to time. You do not need to resist the thoughts, but you should not attach to them or dwell on them either. Simply recognise that you are experiencing a thought and return your focus to your breathing.

You may wish to add a mantra to this practice. A mantra is a phrase that produces specifically feelings. Continue this practice for ten to twenty minutes. You will find your mind opening and your body and mind relaxing.

Using this exercise for ten to twenty minutes a day will promote a deep inner peace which will last throughout the day. I've tried doing meditation, but I'm unable to concentrate on one thing, my mind fluctuates, what can I do? It's normal for the mind to want to jump around the first several tries. And, it beautifully describes some exercises we can do now so that we can know ourselves better. It includes simple instruction for beginning meditation technique which has helped me and my friends immensely. This is the book I most often give to friends and relatives when they tell me they are interested in learning to meditate. I highly recommend it. I really love this book and reading it again!!

He is describing His own experience from the core of heart and in such a simple language. There can be no better way to explain each topic than this book!!!!
