The Consciousness of Time- Four parallel worlds that keep us engaged
Or is it just sensationalising journalism? What we should first ask is what place the theory of parallel universes has in real physics? So allow me to lead you through gently.

Many cosmologists are quite keen on an idea that requires the existence of other realities as an anthropic argument. That is, in order to explain why our universe seems to be just right for humans we need simply appeal to the obvious: There must be an infinite number of universes in a much larger multiverse and we happen to be in the one that by definition had to be just right.
While this is a very attractive idea, I find it rather lazy. In fact, I would argue that it is no more satisfying than creationism. But the notion of parallel universes has a more serious raison d'etre; one that was introduced to science exactly half a century ago. Quantum mechanics - the theory that describes the workings of the subatomic world - is based on many counterintuitive ideas. This is not news. Most physicists learn to live with the notion of a subatomic particle being in two places at once. We put up with this because quantum mechanics, as a mathematical framework for describing how atoms behave, is so successful.
The Art of Quantum Jumping: How to Shift Your Reality in Big, Positive Ways
Indeed, I would argue that it is the most important theory in the whole of science - beating Darwin with one hand behind its back, since it explains why our universe is the way it is. Indeed, this year's Nobel prize was awarded for the discovery of something called giant magneto-resistance, a neat quantum effect that has led directly to the technology that allows for more than one song to be stored on your iPod.
But there is this frustrating weirdness at the heart of quantum mechanics that won't go away. It is difficult to translate what is essentially advanced mathematics into words that make sense. Another way of putting it is that while the mathematical formalism of quantum mechanics is not in doubt, nobody has yet found a satisfactory explanation of what it means that is agreeable to everyone. Should this not be a cause for concern?
Strange behavior of quantum particles may indicate the existence of other parallel universes
There are many ways to attain a detached, peaceful state of mind in meditation, including: If you are experiencing the multiverse like a quantum particle, this state of detached receptivity feels like letting go of your material nature so you no longer fixate on any given point in space-time, and instead spread yourself out in the form of pure energy waves across all possible realities.
In such a state of being pure energy, you can envision all possible futures and pasts and quickly see where each choice ends up. Can you imagine that you and everything and everyone around you exists in a superposition of states? It is possible to contemplate that we can make the best decisions when remembering that, in a multiverse of many possible worlds, everything can happen—and actually is happening— somewhere.
In order to arrive at a preferred reality, we must first disengage and detach from our daily struggles by taking a meditative break in the peaceful feeling of calm we experience at the center of all options. Quantum jumping is very much like shifting gears. When we change gears while driving a car with a stick shift, we move out of one particular reality—such as first gear—by first deselecting all gears as we put our foot on the clutch pedal. From that place of accessing all possibilities, we can move to the next reality we select via the process of quantum jumping—such as second gear. Being conscious of existing in such a superposition of states is akin to being in a state of timelessness… a feeling of being detached from, rather than attached to, everyday reality.

Studies confirm that athletes perform considerably better after first visualizing success. More specifically, the top athletes depend on mental practice or imagery rehearsal of doing what it takes to be their best in order to help guarantee their winning edge. When athletes first practice their maneuvers in their imagination before actual physical performances, studies consistently show they benefit from improvements in skill, confidence, and a sense of calm.
We can apply these insights to the process of quantum jumping as well. Sports psychologists help Olympic athletes ensure better visualization of success by providing guided visualizations. Such a coach helps ensure that athletes spend 20 minutes or so relaxing first, before beginning mental practice, because they know that best results come from a place of peaceful, relaxed detachment before doing imagery rehearsal. Thanks to magnetic resonance imaging MRI scans, neuroscientists have begun to explain a mechanism to account for why imaginary practice can be so extraordinarily effective.
For example, some visualization suggestions mysteriously appear to work despite there being no precise set of muscle groups the athlete can practice working together. A couple of case study examples provided in Dr. Both of these visualizations were effective even though they did not correspond to an obvious set of muscular movements. Picture yourself moving through your new daily activities in your most desired life to forward the process of quantum jumping.
Notice what is most noticeably different, and pay attention to how you can start behaving more like this possible future self. Even doing the simplest little actions in the direction of living true to your dreams makes a huge difference. To experience positive, memorable, meaningful quantum jumps, you must maintain a lucid state of fearlessness and love while taking positive action in keeping with the reality of your dreams. Your feeling of love must be genuine for best results rather than merely doing what has to be done out of obligation, duty, or expectation.
Taking some kind of positive action while feeling so much love is akin to having a good attitude in life: Fortunately, it is possible through focusing awareness in prayer or meditation to nurture your feelings of love. You can jumpstart good feelings of love by remembering, for example, how much you love a favorite pet, best friend, child, or sibling.
When you breathe deeply, slowly, and rhythmically while regaining a deep sense of loving connection to something or someone else, you are helping to naturally harmonize your breathing with your heartbeat with your blood pressure. Attaining such a healthy state of resonance reduces feelings of stress while increasing a general sense of peace and wellbeing. Once you feel a strong sensation of love—that you might physically feel as warmth in your heart—you can focus your attention on the reality you are choosing for yourself and are ready to begin quantum jumping to and know what action you can now take that is in keeping with being the new you.
Imagine that this reality is also now choosing and coming toward you every bit as much as you are now choosing and coming to it, so you are now gaining insights and inspiration regarding what you can best think, say, and do. One of the best ways to get a feel for quantum jumping is to recognize practical applications in matters of importance to you as they arise.
Two common types of real-life problems quantum jumping is good at resolving include finding lost things and overcoming health problems. My friend, Susan, took a moonlit walk by herself one night while on a camping trip to Joshua Tree National Park with some friends. I envisioned her leg being healthy with bones strong and unbroken which as you know is a core part of quantum jumping! Feeling itchiness is often an indication of that part of the body healing.

Later in the week, Susan went to her appointment for a follow-up visit at the clinic. While Susan was waiting, she asked a medic if she could please look at her X-rays while she waited. He flipped on the viewing lights, granted her permission to see her X-rays, and left the room. Susan pulled two different X-rays out of the envelope and examined them closely.
At this point, the doctor became flustered, not wanting to admit hospital error, while clearly confused about what had happened. While Susan flinched a bit, it was more because she was anticipating pain than actually feeling pain. You might have just bruised the bone. This is also the perfect moment to consider how we would most love to live our lives free from fear… and full of love and joy.

I cheered wildly along with the crowd, in wide-eyed wonder and amazement that my young daughter had done an absolutely perfect throw the very first time she attempted such a difficult feat. The crowd cheered to see such perfect caber toss form, and as soon as I got a chance to talk with my daughter, I asked her what she did to get a perfect result on her first throw.
If you heard there was a way you could develop boundlessness, limitlessness, and infinite wealth, would you be interested? Accessing such a primordial state of consciousness is possible through meditation and intention, and a willingness to let go of what we think we know. There can be a kind of boldness in this state of mind, which assists us in holding a steady vision of our desired outcome as a complete certainty, with nothing else distracting us from our goal. Do you feel like you could use a little extra help envisioning wonderful success for yourself?

I found myself in a world in which the cat, named Ashes, had not been hit by a car in the road and died, but instead was just fine. In all the most successful cases, people have focused primarily on love, forgiveness, peace, harmony, balance, acceptance, and oneness.
Each and every one of us can and does change the past, though we are seldom aware this is what is going on. We change the past and the future simultaneously when our consciousness shifts to another parallel world in which another version of ourselves already exists. We frequently change the past with regard to small-scale things, benefiting from not scrutinizing and therefore doubting or questioning these changes with our conscious mind.
Large scale reality shifts are possible as well, though they require we treat them as equally attainable as the smaller scale shifts, and welcome them as easily into our lives. A metaphor for the way we shift between various realities is shifting gears in a manual transmission car. Imagine that the different gears in a stick-shift car represent different realities we can select between.

We typically shift to an adjacent reality—or an adjacent gear—one which is not so far from our current experience that all that many things have changed. In order to shift gears, we must first move our foot from the gas pedal to the clutch, so we disengage from one gear in preparation to move to the next. This simple process of moving our foot from gas pedal to clutch, moving the stick-shift from one gear to an adjacent gear, and moving our foot from clutch to gas pedal is one we can engage in every time we move our consciousness to a state of disengaging from current reality—such as we feel when dreaming, daydreaming, meditating or praying.
Acceptance is the Key to Shifting Reality. If you think of parallel worlds of possible realities as gears in a car, and realize that the only way to change between physical realities—between gears—is to move to an energetic state of all possibility by taking your foot off the gas pedal and placing it on the clutch to allow the gears to disengage to allow yourself and all that is to be between all realities —then you can see how important it is to reach a state of neutral emotional detachment… a state of unconditional acceptance and non-engagement.
The more charged the emotions remain, the harder it is for people to successfully switch realities and change the past, since emotions are a lot like keys that unlock certain doors realities , and often they also hold us in particular realities, keeping us involved in situations and experiences that match the way we feel—even if those feelings are unpleasant. To get a past we like better, we need to change the way we feel all the way down to our subconscious gut feelings.
A big part of being in this pure energy state of mind requires we let go of our own ego-based sense of what is best or right, in order that what is best for all concerned manifests. There is an important reason for practicing achieving and maintaining a state of acceptance and gratitude, and that is that such a pure heartfelt mindset ensures our highest order intention for the best for all concerned, rather than for purely selfish outcomes.
For this reason, Tibetan monks who walk through walls and do other amazing things emphasize the importance of not fixating on ego-desired outcomes, but rather on spiritual growth. If you would like to experience a sense of oneness and acceptance through meditation, and want to know how to choose what type of meditation is best for you, I highly recommend reading my article, What Meditation is Best for You?
I share all this and some amazing first-hand experiences from my life in a powerpoint presentation I presented at the 12th annual Language of Spirit Conference in , Listening to Future Selves, Reviewing Our Pasts. The good news is that simply by starting on this path to mindfulness and oneness consciousness, you will be making a powerful positive difference in the world. Attaining a state of loving, peaceful, accepting, thankful consciousness is what I recommend as a primary goal… and this is something you can begin right here, right now.
I just saw the new Men in Black 3 movie this past weekend, and appreciated how characters in the movie recognized the significance of choosing between possible parallel realities—the idea first proposed by American physicist, Hugh Everett III. Griffin identified real-time cues and indicators that suggested which reality path happened to be unfolding at any given place and time, which is a wonderful talent to have when making life and death decisions.
Another wonderful film featuring a character who sees and chooses between parallel realities is Next. In this fast-paced action-adventure movie, Nicolas Cage plays the role of a Las Vegas magician with the ability to see two minutes into his own future. This may seem to be something amazingly uncommon, yet in actuality, researchers have conducted studies demonstrating that people definitely do have an inner sense of what is about to occur moments before it actually does, such as Dean Radin describes in his wonderful book, Entangled Minds.
This type of awareness of parallel worlds of possibility is typically described as a kind of short-term temporal effect, in which a person is aware of many possibilities opening up in their immediate future, such as the next few minutes. Future memories arise in much the same way past memories do, when some kind of cue or trigger reminds us of something that has happened—or will happen.
Danger Alert — Another way that parallel realities show up to us in real life is through an intuitive sense of imminent danger that sometimes arises for no outwardly obvious reason. We might have a sense of being in a terrible crash when getting into our car, for example, feeling a body-wide sensation of nervousness. We can view this as being given a choice to take or not take to a jump to a parallel reality. When Consciousness Changes the Physical World , sometimes a sequence of events repeats, as if some kind of spacetime eddy current is looping back around to try something out one more time.
